Cooking styles from Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and many more others have come together in the offerings of Mavi. The term mavi means the color of the sea of the Mediterranean. Mavi is owned by the Muja family who are descended from Illyrians or modern day Albania which is a crossroads of many empires. In the past the Illyrian table was considered by kings and sultans to be one of the most exotic. This place is a perfect retreat for excellent Mediterranean cuisine and it’s not expensive. The food is great and the service is cheerful and excellent. The portions are wonderfully generous. When the mixed grill arrived loaded with succulent catch of the day seafood my mouth was already watering form the presentation and aromas. Their signature garlic bread, fresh fish from around the world, C.A.B. steaks, and scrumptious pasta dishes are all melt in your mouth delicious. This medium expensive restaurant has décor that can be improved in spite of being around for more than twenty years. They have private rooms, a full alcohol bar, and they accept catering jobs. The food is good especially the garlic bread mentioned before. Seeing the chefs preparing the meals is a visual treat in itself. The service was friendly and quite suited to my taste.
